Welcome to Afraca Agribanks Forum 2010

The African Rural and Agricultural Credit Association (AFRACA) is a Sub-Saharan African association of banks and financial institutions which are directly involved in providing financial services for rural development. Its Secretariat is currently in Nairobi, Kenya, while membership cuts across 20 countries which are represented by Central Banks, Deposit money banks, Government Institutions and other institutions involved in rural development. Established in 1977, it helps to foster cooperation among governments and financial institutions in the field of rural agricultural finance and banking. Towards attaining its objectives, AFRACA member institutions are involved in a number of activities including, support for financial services development through organising seminars and conferences.

At its Annual General Meeting held in Dar'esalam in 2008, it was agreed that Nigeria should host the next Agribanks forum in collaboration with the AFRACA Secretariat. The forum with the theme "Financing Options for Agricultural and Rural Development in Sub Saharan Africa" will be held from 5th - 7th May, 2010 at the Sheraton Hotel and Towers, Abuja.
